Chapter I — Mallorca (November 2015) The first workshop was in this isand by the Mediterranean Sea. It became a time of adventures and exploration into human nature. For a week we lived together in a two-centuries-old manor house and went out every day hunting for eroticism in unexpected places — by the sea, in the fields, inside other people's intimate spaces. No models, no staging: we met real people and let the encounter make the picture. Joining us behind the lens was Karen Kuehn.

Erotic Eye is a love story that has lasted for 10 years. Donna and Tomeu are not charming, kind, or traditional photographers. They are rebels and killers. They will pour a lot of their spirit into you.

Before the workshop, I wasn't aware of these aspects, but I felt compelled to attend in search of a key to developing my narrative. The only certainty I had was that I needed to develop my photographic style, my personal vision of the world.

This was my first photography workshop. I anticipated a typical setup: arriving from our hotels in the morning to sit around a table, then heading out in the evening to shoot photos for the next day's review. Instead, living together under the same roof transformed the workshop into a full-time adventure, with no time constraints or rules for taking photographs.

Ï've participated in 5 intensive week/long workshops with Donna Ferrato and Tomeu Coll. They were transformational learning experiences. Donna had a sense of purpose about her approach to photography that is inspirational, and might even be described as "gonzo". She mentors and teaches with an in-the-moment directness, followed by periods of reflection that bring another level of insight and growth. The venue and subject of their workshops are always unique and challenging. Nothing is staged, finding great moments that bring new insight to both photographer and the photographed.
